2017 Fall Retreat classes

* Tea Towel Apron. Tea Towel will be provided for everyone. This pattern was taught at a UVQG class several years ago and is still one of my favorites. Davidene will bring white twill tape ($1 for 2 yards) for apron strings,
* Wool Pin Cushion. Nancy Jones will be teaching this class. The price is $7.50 and includes everything you need. You can pay her directly at retreat, but you must sign up ahead of time in person at guild meeting or text "wool" to 801-368-3910. She needs to know how many kits we need.
Davidene is bringing her studio cutter. You may bring your own fabric to cut:
Tumbler Quilt blocks (2 sizes available)
Drunkards Path Quilt blocks
Squares, Strips, etc.
2017 Fall Retreat classes
It's TIME for our TIMELESS retreat! The retreat committee is so excited and has nice things in store for you.
Things to know and bring:
1. Make sure your membership is current!
2. Bring a show and tell for Thursday after dinner.
3. Bring Secret Sister gifts if you are participating. (3 gifts about $5 each)
4. Bring a nice quality pin cushion if participating in pin
cushion exchange. Do not wrap it.
5. Bring your own projects and sewing supplies. No large irons allowed at your personal place. You may want a seat cushion and a lamp. Ironing and cutting stations will be setup for you to use.
6. Bring scraps to cut out your own tumbler or drunkard’s path quilts on the Accuquilt Studio cutter.
7. Please don’t wear perfume and be mindful of scented spray starch.
8. Dress in layers. The temperature in the Bernese Center is uneven, sometimes hot and some times cold. Control the temperature with your clothing. A jacket is recommended.
9. We were not charged the resort fee again this year, but you may use pool, etc., if desired.
10. A credit card on file is required at check in. Don’t use a debit card as it ties up your funds.
Bernese Center Retreat Schedule: 6AM - 12PM (you may stay later than midnight) Room check in is after 3PM. If you arranged to arrive on Tuesday, you may setup at 6PM.

6AM Bernese Center open. If it’s not open, tell the front desk. They don't want to unlock doors if no one is in there. Try to be setup by 10AM if possible

Noon Lunch - Whole wheat turkey sandwich
2PM Tea towel apron demo - twill tape is $2 for 2 yards. Then Accuquilt Studio cutter demo. You may use cutter any time during retreat.
6PM Dinner - Grilled beef sirloin
7PM Liz Laney Trunk Show

Friday at dinner, you will receive a $4 bakery voucher good for Saturday only.
You may sew until 2PM Room take down is 2-4PM
Remember that you need to be a member to sign up.
{Also after the retreat is full you can sign up for the waitlist. We usually have last minute cancellations. Each person coming needs to fill out a registration form, even if you are substituting for someone else.}

Thank you to all who attended and helped make our 2016 Fall Retreat sew successful! Some of the highlights were Caisa's game show, Nancy's horoscope pin cushion exchange, Friends Forever Quilting Together project, Alysa's folded fabric flowers, cake pin cushion served on a glass pedestal plate, Caisa's "Sew Fun" wooden blocks, those rolling chairs and bakery coupons! Check out the Utah Valley Quilt Guild Facebook page for some fun pictures.
We are already looking forward to the 2017 Fall Retreat..."Timeless". The registration form will be available in the March Patchwords. There will be 2 parts to it: the registration page and the sewing table diagram. Use the diagram to choose which table your group would like to be at. Indicate first, second, and third choices. We have rearranged the room and moved the back three "hot" tables and the front "cold" table to where the classroom used to be.
When you receive your March issue, you may mail in your registration. There will be no waiting period. The mail-ins before March 15 will be considered first come, first serve. The in-person registration will be at the March 15th Service Meeting. Please come with a filled out registration form and $75 nonrefundable deposit for each person you are registering. A filled out form is required for every attendee. As always, you must be a member of Utah Valley Quilt Guild at time of registration and at time of retreat. Please renew your membership before you come to retreat.
If you are willing to teach or Demo, please indicate that on your form. There will be a pin cushion exchange. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there again!
